Stag Furniture was a British furniture manufacturer that operated from 1906 to 1996.
The company was based in the town of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England, and was known for producing a wide range of furniture, including bedroom sets, dining sets, and lounge furniture.
Stag Furniture's most popular range of furniture was the "Minstrel" collection, which was introduced in the 1960s and featured a distinctive dark wood finish with brass hardware. The company also produced other popular ranges, including the "Cromwell" and "New England" collections.
In addition to its domestic furniture, Stag Furniture also produced office furniture, including desks, filing cabinets, and bookcases.
Despite its popularity and success, Stag Furniture faced financial difficulties in the 1990s due to changing market conditions and increased competition from cheaper foreign imports.
In 1996, the company went into administration and was subsequently bought by another British furniture manufacturer, H Young Holdings plc.
Today, Stag Furniture pieces are highly sought after by collectors and fans of mid-century modern furniture. The "Minstrel" range, in particular, is highly prized for its quality and timeless design.
