In the early 1970’s the Medical Services Coordinating Committee recommended that all dental equipment in the Armed Forces should be brought into line with the existing civilian standards. This lead to the replacement of old Rathbone units, with the modern ‘Air Hostess’ unit. As a result, between 1971-73, a number of Murray Ranger stools had been procured, so that all chairside staff should work seated.
